My experience with management - I requested a visit to their 1 bedroom apts. The rent price was $1,725. I told them I could move a month from now, they agent answered they could only hold the apt for 2 days with a $300 non-refundable deposit. I requested a visit anyway. At the end of my tour, I asked to the realtor if they could consider $100 discount on the rent on a 12 month lease to start the lease a month from now. So $1625 rent and to hold the apt for a month to start my lease. The manager called me back specifically to tell me why I counter offered if I was told initially that the rent was $1725 and they could only hold the apartment for 2 days. He also mentioned that he had listened to my conversation with his agent ( without my knowledge) and he also complained about waisting their time, since they pre-qualify people to show their apartments and my offer was totally unreasonable. In addition, he also complained that they had to specifically accommodate their time of my visit (could not accept my request for after work - 5:30 PM or noon time) for 3:00 PM. The other alternative was their open house on Saturday. Perhaps my offer was not the best offer, but it was an offer on the spot. And I might had agreed with the full price if it wasnât for the manager(not the agent nor the realtor) attitude. Be advise, that you if you are lucky enough to prequalify for a visit donât make the mistake to counter offer or try to negotiate their price, and accommodate to their visit hours.
